Dana Al Dairani

Dana joined Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) as Associate Director in October 2018. In her position, Dana supports the overall operations of the Center, including the fiscal management of the center, program administration, and stakeholder engagement. She was recognized for her contributions to CCAS and Georgetown University when she was nominated for the 2019 Distinguished Staff Award through the Georgetown Graduate School Student Awards Council.
Dana has more than 14 years of professional experience in the field of educational development in Syria, Jordan, and in the Arab world more broadly. Her previous experience was focused on youth empowerment through learning and education, community engagement, and refugee integration into host communities. Dana has a B.A. in English Literature from Damascus University, an M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and a Certificate in Refugees and International Migration from Georgetown University. Dana was a 2014 John Smith Trust Rule of Law Fellow, and a recipient of the 2015 World of Difference Award from the International Alliance for Women. In the Fall of 2020, Dana became a candidate in Georgetown’s Executive MBA program.
